What is CBRS?

The CBRS band is 150 MHz of spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band that is being made available for shared use by the Federal government, commercial wireless service providers, and unlicensed users. The CBRS band is broken up into three tiers of access: General Authorized Access (GAA), Incumbent Access (IA), and Priority Access (PA). General Authorized Access users have unlicensed access to the band and do not need to coordinate their usage with anyone. Incumbent Access users include federal government agencies that have licensed the band for radar usage, and they have priority over all other users. Priority Access users have licensed access to the band and must coordinate their usage with other PA users in order to avoid interference.
