NASDAQ Extends Compliance Period for Novatel Wireless

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – December 20, 2002 – Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL), a provider of wireless data access solutions, announced today that it has received a letter from the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel that extended the date by which Novatel Wireless must demonstrate compliance with the minimum stockholder’s equity requirement. The new date is the filing of the Company’s annual report on Form 10-K, which must be filed by March 31, 2003. At that time, Novatel Wireless will also need to demonstrate compliance with all the requirements for continued listing on The Nasdaq National Market to maintain its National Market listing.
